The 23 Series

The 23 series is Yamaha's former line of student models.  Their current line of student models is the 25 series, which is essentially the 23 with a high F# key.  The 23 series tenor is in the standard key of Bb, and the 23 series alto is in the standard key of Eb.  Each has a front F key, and Yamaha's name stamped on the bell.  They both also have adjustable thumb hooks, tapered nylon locked pivot screws with non head, plastic key buttons, and are clear lacquered with nickel plated keys.  The alto weighs 4.9 lbs (2.2 kg), and the tenor weighs 6.6 lbs (3.0 kg).  Each instrument is essentially built like a truck, yet look great.

The 52 Series

The 52 series is Yamaha's current line of intermediate models.  The 52 series alto and baritone saxes are in the standard key of Eb, and the tenor is in the standard key of Bb.  All 52 series horns feature a front F key, and the alto and tenor have a high F# key.  The baritone sax in this series has a low A key.  On all the horns, the bell is stamped with yamaha's name/logo, and has an adjustable thumb hook.  They all feature a tapered nylon locked pivot screw with head, and have plastic key buttons. and have a clear lacquer finish.  The alto weighs 5.1 lbs (2.3 kg), the tenor weighs 7.1 lbs (3.2 kg), and the baritone sax weighs 12.5 lbs (5.7 kg).

The 62 Series

The 62 series is Yamaha's line of professional saxes.  The 62 series alto and baritone saxes are both in the standard key of Eb, and the tenor is in the standard key of Bb.  All the saxes in the 62 series have a front F key, and a high F# key.  The baritone saxophone also has a low A key.  Each bell in the 62 series is hand engraved, and each sax features the adjustable key hook.  Each saxophone has a tapered nylon locked pivot screw with head.  All the key buttons are mother of pearl, and are gold lacquered.  The alto weighs 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg), the tenor weighs 7.3 lbs (3.3 kg), and the baritone sax weighs 13.0 lbs (5.7 kg)

The YSS-475

This is Yamaha's new intermediate soprano saxophone.  It comes in the standard key of Bb, and has a straight, one piece neck.  It features a high F# key, comes gold lacquered, and has a 4C mouthpiece.  The YSS-475 has the same bore as the custom model, and the pads are the same as the custom also.  As soon as I can find an image, it will be here.

The YSS-675

This is Yamaha's professional soprano sax, which is in the standard key of Bb.  It has two interchangeable necks, a straight one, and a slightly curved neck for comfort.  It has a high F# and front F key.  The YSS-675 has an adjustable thumb hook, a hand engraved bell, a tapered pivot screw with head, mother of pearl key buttons, a gold lacquered finish, and weighs 3.1 lbs (1.4 kg).
 
 



The 875 Series (Custom)

The 875 Series is Yamaha's custom series.  The soprano and tenor saxes are in the key of Bb, and the alto is in Eb.  The soprano has two interchangeable necks, a straight one, and a slightly curved one.  Each saxophone goes up to high F#, and have engraved bells.  The custom series is available in standard clear lacquer, black lacquer, gold plate, and silver plate.  Each saxophone has a variety of necks, in different plates and styles.  Each saxophone comes with a custom saxophone mouthpiece, and a unique case.
